Youth Summer Course, 2026

Every Summer, the Heralds of the Gospel organize a worldwide summer course for boys at the community of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary. This course has always focused on catechetical topics to help and strengthen the boys as they continue in their vacations and later go back to school.

Sacraments, the best aid for the youth

This year’s summer course took place on the third week of July. It was inaugurated with a solemn Holy Mass, as is of custom, in which the boys’ choir under the instruction of the Heralds sang. The boys were also given plenty of opportunity to participate in the Holy Masses, celebrated daily throughout the course, by altar serving.

The homilies by the priests were illustrated with engaging stories so to enthuse the boys in their practice of the faith, despite the obstacles they may encounter.

Also, all of the priests were at complete disposition to hear the confession of those who wanted, at any given moment.

Theater plays!

The scene was all set… the boys just needed to go in the auditorium to experience the vivid examples of Catholic Doctrine. From the conversion of St. Alphonse Ratisbonne to the struggle Catholics must face against the seven deadly sins, the curtains of the stage opened and closed to reveal each character in the pieces and the teaching each had to offer.

And the boys participated, too!

Food and a heavenly gift

Meals were served to the families and the boys that participated. At the closing dinner, with live music, all the boys received a special gift, a celestial token as a reminder of the graces they received in the days of the summer course. It was the miraculous medal, which brought the conversion of St. Alphonse Ratisbonne.
