With an attendance of nearly 5,500 people—not counting those who were unable to enter due to traffic congestion on the highway—the Heralds of the Gospel inaugurated the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in El Salvador.

The solemn liturgical celebration of the church’s dedication took place on May 13 at 5:00 p.m. The dedication was presided over by Monsignor Óscar Álvarez Orellana, auxiliary bishop of San Salvador, acting on behalf of Archbishop José Luis Escobar Alas. Concelebrating the Holy Mass were Monsignor Luis Morao Andreaza, OFM, Bishop Emeritus of Chalatenango (El Salvador), Monsignor Joseph Salem, Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature of El Salvador, and more than 30 priests.

The dedication of the Church of Our Lady of Fátima was also attended by the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, and the First Lady, Mrs. Gabriela de Bukele, who were presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of their attendance. 

Holy Mass is already being celebrated at the church on Sundays. At 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m.
