The families at St. Michael’s in Hudson, Massachusetts, and other cities, had an unforgettable grace of making an intimate bond with Mary Most Holy. From October 6 to 13, the Heralds of the Gospel visited the homes of parishioners with the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Our Lady of Fatima.
In these visits, the Missionaries prayed with the families and spoke of the marvels of a filial devotion to Our Lady, so to rekindle or further enthuse their faith.
Evangelization without barriers
With the permission of the respective Parish Priests of each community, the Heralds did not save any efforts to reach all those who desired to benefit from the Mission. Opening thus to three different communities: English, Portuguese and Spanish speaking.
So to visit the families, the Pilgrim Statue started going to the homes from morning to past afternoon.
This visitation of the Pilgrim Statue at the homes, is a means for grace to touch the hearts of the faithful. To a certain extent, God and Our Lady use this apostolate as a visible sign for invisible grace.
It is then how in all the visits, a period of intimate prayer naturally occurred.
Abundance of Grace
These visits were complimentary to the most important aspect of the Mission, the Sacraments.
Having in mind the words of Our Lord that without Him, we cannot do anything, the Priests of the Heralds celebrated a morning and an evening Mass as well as hearing confessions daily.
With the Knights of Columbus
In the middle of the Mission, the Council 99 of the Knights of Columbus invited the Heralds of the Gospel for a two-hour reception.
After praying the Rosary, the Missionary brothers explained the Charism and Spirituality of the Heralds and gave a talk on the importance of the Apparitions of Our Lady Fatima, and how her message echoes up to our days.
Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
This Mission and all its activities had the finality of reassuring and strengthening the faith of all the communities. Along with propagating the promise of hope that Our Lady said in Fatima, “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
We express our gratitude to all those who made this mission possible and helped the missionaries. Especially to Rev. Fr. Bert Proulx (Administrator of St. Michael) and Rev. Fr. Adriano Lessa (Chaplain to the Portuguese speaking community).
