The Heralds of the Gospel went in Mission to Big Spring, TX.

For five days, the families of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Big Spring, TX received the presence of Our Blessed Mother in an Advent Marian Mission. Through this Mission, Our Lady not only touched but prepared the hearts of the families to receive Our Lord as She had.

Our Lady visits the parishioners

As part of the spirituality of the Heralds of the Gospel, the presence of the Mother of God is very important. Throughout the Mission, the Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady visited the families to spend some time of prayer in the intimacy of the home. Also, to encourage all to benefit from the abundance of graces from the Sacraments and devotions offered in the Mission.

This “personal” visit from Our Blessed Mother was a special part of the Mission that enchanted all who received her.

Sacraments, Devotions & Talks

All the days of the Mission began with a Holy Mass, after the which the Blessed Sacrament would be exposed and an hour of adoration with the recitation of the Holy Rosary would take place.

After the Holy Hour, the visits to the homes would take place, as abovementioned. These would go on until evening, to go back to the Church. Then a talk on various spiritual topics would be given to the faithful.

And to conclude, another Holy Mass would be celebrated.

These program was done on all five days of the Mission. In some days, the families had the opportunity to learn more in depth on the Devotion to Our Blessed Mother and other of her Devotions.

One of these, was the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Carmel, a great Marian devotion and sacramental.

Not only that, while the Statue was visiting the homes, a priest of the Heralds of the Gospel would stay at the Church for Confessions.

This period of Confessions accumulated to 8 hours a day, through all the days of the Mission.

Consecration of the Parish to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The conclusion of the Mission was a special Holy Mass. In it, all the parishioners with the Parish Priest expressed their gratitude to Our Blessed Mother and Consecrated their Parish to Her Immaculate Heart.
